Judging from the tourism guide book, Pugung Raharjo Archaeological Park is one Hindu relic historic site. Located in the Village Pugung Raharjo, East Lampung, this park was first discovered in 1954.

At first, the Archaeological Park Pugung Raharjo is a closed forest and is considered haunted by locals. Then, the forest was opened to be a place to stay migrants who came to Lampung. When clearing the forest, residents found a large stone structure, square-shaped mound, and statues. After that, the findings reported to the Department of Antiquities and turned into relics of megalithic-era classic.

The megalithic era was a time when the ancestors are not familiar with writing. The characteristics of the megalithic era is all the tools are made ​​of large rocks, such as upright stone, stone table, stone graves and stone coffins. While classical times occurred when the influence of Hindu culture and Buddhist religion entered. Age occurred in the third century AD 6-15.

An area of ​​30 hectares is very interesting to visit, especially for tourists who enjoy historical tours. Here, you can find the tools used by early humans first. Interestingly, all these things made ​​of stone.

Some things you can find is menhir or upright stones and a stone table or a dolmen is derived from the megalithic era. In addition, you can also see the grave stone of early humans who used to serve as a place of worship.

Not only the ancient human relics, visitors can also see the cultural heritage objects Hindu Buddha in the Archaeological Park Pugung Raharjo. Ceramics from the Han Dynasty, Sung, and Ming is in this park. A statue is estimated to come from centuries-6 also can be found at the park around it.

One thing that you should not miss during a visit to the Archaeological Park Pugung Raharjo is "punden staircase", like the pyramids in Egypt. This archaeological park has 13 pieces of punden staircase. Terraces on the pyramid is made of Pugung Raharjo mound that is now neatly planted with green grass.

On the staircase of the pyramid, you can also see the stones neatly arranged. This rock serves as a barrier around the stairs and the pyramid, and divide it into 3 parts punden terraces, the lower, middle and top.
