Bukit Bangkirai adventure tourism
Bukit Bangkirai nature tourism is adventure tourism in the area of primary forest in Bukit Bangkirai located on the border between the City of Aberdeen and District Kukar. This area is part of the area of tropical forests in East Kalimantan. In this region other than its natural beauty of the forest there are also several types of bridges and Canopy Bird Heaven (drongos) and hornbill (richoneros) are very rare.
There are six artificial islands are deliberately intended as a place of orangutans. Wildlife conservation area is also equipped with a Forest School which provides a place to play and the reintroduction of orangutans skills necessary for life after release into their natural habitat.
The area called Bukit Bangkirai because these forests are dominated by tree species that grow Bangkirai in the protected forest area. There are trees over 150 years old with a height reaching 40 to 50 m, with a diameter of 2.3 m. Buttress root circumference growth (buttresses) are large and strong to make this tree has a value of its own beauty.
Panoramic on the right side of the road are mostly mountains and highlands of the natural forest.
