Sundak Beach, Private Beach
Sundak beaches, beautiful small beach located in the district of Jogjakarta Gunungkidul turned out to save an interesting story. There is a unique natural phenomenon due to the activity that eventually became the starting point of naming this beach. During the wet season, a lot of water flowing from land to sea. As a result, the plains on the east coast divide to form formations such as rivers. Water that flows like "mbedah" (splitting) of sand. When drought comes, crevice disappeared and since the sea water came in with the sand. Natural phenomena is what causes the name of the beach to "Wedibedah" (sand split).
According to the story developed in the community, the name Sundak Beach on the coast began to be used after this happened a fight between a dog and a hedgehog. The fight occurred because of a dog being starved by chance met a porcupine. The hedgehog then chased and eventually fall prey to hungry dogs earlier. For the incident, the dog owner is often mentioned as Sundak beach. Sundak which is a blend of "asu" (dog in Javanese) and the "hedgehog" (thorn-skinned animals).
Travelers will never bad-faith to say that Sundak Beach and the surroundings are stunning. The beach itself, the rehearsal featuring white sand and crystal clear sea water. Not to mention when visitors try to walk from the beach into the sea is relatively shallow as far as 30 meters. There, there are small rocks lining and into hiding-marine biota is tiny.
Another attraction at this beach are the trees that make the cool sea breeze around the coast. In the afternoon, from beneath the trees, tourists can enjoy beautiful sunsets in the Indian Ocean horizon.
Sundak beaches are in one area with most attractions on the coast of Gunungkidul. Thus, tourists who want to find a different atmosphere of the beach can be moved to other locations. Several other beaches are located adjacent to the beach Sundak are: Baron Beach, Beach Krakal, Kukup Beach, Beach Drini, and Beach Sepanjang.
